Giving Back To The Community

Giving Back To The Community

I love to give back. I love volunteering when I can. Having 3 young children at home, especially during the summer, doesn’t allow me to volunteer nearly as much as I would like right now. However, to try to compensate for that, I try to give as much as I can, and one of those ways is by giving back to the community.

We live in a small town. There’s not much around, but we love it that way. I’m always wanting to help out with our schools, our church, youth sports, or if someone in the community needs a little help from time to time.

You’re Like, So How Does This Pertain To Photography?

Not long ago I started thinking, I want to help out more, but how? How can my little business have a BIG impact? Furthermore, I started wondering, should I go towards a more national or worldwide organization, or should I stick to local? I want to do it all, but there just isn’t a way for me to do that. So I came back down out of dream land, and back to real life.

What Did I Decide?

Well, I decided to stay local, at this time. I got to thinking about our children. No, not just mine and my husband’s children, but all the children in Gunter. The one’s who have dreams and ambitions. The ones like our family who could use a little help to pay for college. Additionally, something to help the amazing teachers that spend so much time with and on our kids. Teachers and educators have an extra special place in my heart because they are capable of doing something I’ve never wanted to do, or even more, have the patience to do. God love them!

So Where Could I Find Such An Organization?

In our town we have something called GIFT ~ Gunter ISD Foundation Trust

“GIFT, the Gunter Education Foundation, is a public non-profit foundation which relies upon corporate and private donations for its funding. We are a volunteer organization, and all of our funds are directed toward educational programs. Funding priorities include both need and merit-based scholarships, innovative campus teaching grants, a permanent endowment fund, and fellowships for staff professional growth and development.” ~

“GIFT provides grants to teachers and campuses in the district and educational scholarships to deserving students and teachers. Since its creation in 2001, GIFT has distributed over $500,000 in scholarships to area students and over $130,000 in grants to GISD teachers and schools. In addition, GIFT has donated over $70,000 to the Kerfoot Trust. In toll, over $700,000 has been raised in the last 16 years.” ~

Unquestionably a great organization and amazing way to give back to the community!

Now you are wondering, why is she talking about all of this? It’s a simple answer. Julie Leonard Photography will now donate $50 from each session fee paid when reserving any session with me! In addition to this, I believe that everyone should have a giving heart, so I will donate another $25 to any nonprofit organization of the client’s choice!

$75 Donated Each Time You Reserve A Session With Me!!!

I don’t know about you, but I am pretty excited about this. Like I said before, I love to give. Even more, I love giving back to our community. I want to encourage everyone to give as much as they can. So, not only will you have an amazing experience with me, you will be helping some of our town’s kids and teachers. I cannot thank you enough!!

Christmas Mini Sessions 2017

Christmas Mini Sessions

Can you believe that it is already time to start planning and reserving your Christmas Mini Sessions? Where has 2017 gone? This year mini sessions are going to be so much fun! I am super excited and cannot wait to get started!!! Christmas minis are great for everyone in all walks of life!

The Sessions:

This year there will be a couple of options: 1) The traditional Christmas minis with little or no props involved, and 2) I will be bring out a bed covered with Christmas decor and using whites, greys, and beiges in the sheets, pillows, & blankets. For fun for the kiddos, I will have a cookie or 2, a book, and perhaps a couple of other things. As always, I will do a few pictures separate from this setup, and this setup is for families and children!! When reserving, I will have it indicated which one is which. If you do not see a date that works for you, be sure to contact me. I may be able to squeeze in one more date! Locations include Gunter, McKinney, Frisco, Flower Mound, & Van Alstyne!!

The Christmas Mini Sessions are $200 (50% non-refundable deposit at time of reserving with the remaining balance due before or at the time of the session), and are 25 minutes long. You get 7 high resolution digital images and (1) set of 25 Christmas cards and (1) 8×10 print, with the option to purchase more images, products, and cards. You get to choose your card and the pictures from your session will be included  on that card. All of this is done from an online gallery, and when you pick your digital images, they will be emailed to you!

These mini sessions are good for 5 people per session. I do this because I have learned in the past that there isn’t enough time for more than that. Everything moves so quickly, and the fun goes out the window when there are too many people squeezing into one 25 minute session. If you have more than 5 people in your family, I am happy to schedule back to back minis at a discounted rate if need be!! These sessions are not good for newborns alone. Newborns can be scheduled for their own session at my home studio! They are great for all walks of life though. Couples, maternity, kids, families, and yes I love to include the family pet! One location does not allow pets though, Wintergreen Christmas Tree Farm.

2017 Spring Mini Sessions

2017 Spring Mini Sessions

Spring Mini Sessions are here and ready to reserve!!! I am super excited about spring minis this year. Last year I found the very best wildflower spot in Richardson. You will definitely want to try to grab a spot for that one, but if you can’t I am offering a few other locations that will be wonderful also! As of right now, I have 3 different dates to choose from, but could potentially add more depending on needs! You know I am always trying to help you out! Spring mini sessions are great for just about anything…..engagements, birthday, family, just because, milestones, etc.! I will be bring a couple of props, if needed for the kids, but if this is a birthday, you will need to supply whatever special item you want in the pictures, for example, balloons. I cannot do a cake smash though.

So, what you need to know:

•   Spring Mini Sessions are 20 minutes long. Be sure to arrive 5 – 10 minutes early because I want you to be able to get your full 20 minutes!

•   Spring Mini sessions are $150. 50% due at the time of reserving, and the other 50% is due before or at the time of the session. If you do not pay the 50% deposit within 48 hours of reserving, your spot will be canceled. The 50% reservation deposit is nonrefundable, but transferable to a different mini session or full session. However if you do transfer the deposit, it will be applied to whatever is part of that session you reserve. For example, Christmas mini session. You transfer your deposit to a Christmas mini session. You will get what comes with that particular session vs what comes with this mini session. Or if you transfer to a full session, you will be reserving that session, but not get the 3 digital images that come with this session. When submitting payment, it sends you to Paypal. You do not have to have a Paypal account to pay. There is an option to simply enter your credit card information.

•   Spring mini sessions are great for no more than 5 people per session. For example, a family of 5….2 parents and 3 kids. I have found that more than 3 kids per mini session can be very overwhelming, and could potentially not allow sufficient time to capture them at their best. You are welcome to reserve back to back mini sessions if you like!

•   You will choose and receive 3 digital images with this mini sessions, and the option to purchase more from your online gallery! I typically edit 15 – 25 images for mini sessions.
