Giving Back To The Community

Giving Back To The Community

I love to give back. I love volunteering when I can. Having 3 young children at home, especially during the summer, doesn’t allow me to volunteer nearly as much as I would like right now. However, to try to compensate for that, I try to give as much as I can, and one of those ways is by giving back to the community.

We live in a small town. There’s not much around, but we love it that way. I’m always wanting to help out with our schools, our church, youth sports, or if someone in the community needs a little help from time to time.

You’re Like, So How Does This Pertain To Photography?

Not long ago I started thinking, I want to help out more, but how? How can my little business have a BIG impact? Furthermore, I started wondering, should I go towards a more national or worldwide organization, or should I stick to local? I want to do it all, but there just isn’t a way for me to do that. So I came back down out of dream land, and back to real life.

What Did I Decide?

Well, I decided to stay local, at this time. I got to thinking about our children. No, not just mine and my husband’s children, but all the children in Gunter. The one’s who have dreams and ambitions. The ones like our family who could use a little help to pay for college. Additionally, something to help the amazing teachers that spend so much time with and on our kids. Teachers and educators have an extra special place in my heart because they are capable of doing something I’ve never wanted to do, or even more, have the patience to do. God love them!

So Where Could I Find Such An Organization?

In our town we have something called GIFT ~ Gunter ISD Foundation Trust

“GIFT, the Gunter Education Foundation, is a public non-profit foundation which relies upon corporate and private donations for its funding. We are a volunteer organization, and all of our funds are directed toward educational programs. Funding priorities include both need and merit-based scholarships, innovative campus teaching grants, a permanent endowment fund, and fellowships for staff professional growth and development.” ~

“GIFT provides grants to teachers and campuses in the district and educational scholarships to deserving students and teachers. Since its creation in 2001, GIFT has distributed over $500,000 in scholarships to area students and over $130,000 in grants to GISD teachers and schools. In addition, GIFT has donated over $70,000 to the Kerfoot Trust. In toll, over $700,000 has been raised in the last 16 years.” ~

Unquestionably a great organization and amazing way to give back to the community!

Now you are wondering, why is she talking about all of this? It’s a simple answer. Julie Leonard Photography will now donate $50 from each session fee paid when reserving any session with me! In addition to this, I believe that everyone should have a giving heart, so I will donate another $25 to any nonprofit organization of the client’s choice!

$75 Donated Each Time You Reserve A Session With Me!!!

I don’t know about you, but I am pretty excited about this. Like I said before, I love to give. Even more, I love giving back to our community. I want to encourage everyone to give as much as they can. So, not only will you have an amazing experience with me, you will be helping some of our town’s kids and teachers. I cannot thank you enough!!

Senior Mini Session Giveaway

Senior Mini Session Giveaway

Senior Mini Sessions are super fun! Your senior year is a very special time of your life, and what better way to preserve that memory than having a few pictures to treasure, especially for your parents and grandparents!

This school year in my town of Gunter has been so inspirational. If you are not from here you are missing out! There are some pretty incredible parents, teachers, and students! We all have a special love for our community. Even more, we love supporting our schools, and every aspect of them….academics, sports, clubs, etc..

So I’ve been thinking for a while that I wanted to give back to these students by setting up a free session for a deserving senior that hasn’t had the opportunity to have pictures. They will win a free mini session spot from my listed locations and 3 digital images with the opportunity to purchase more! Here is all the information for the planned senior minis (continue further down to find the link to nominate the senior):

So what I am going to do is have a short form to fill out. It’s up to you if you want the senior to know they are nominated. They can nominate themselves also! Fill out the form and on Sunday March 12th I will enter all the nominations in a raffle or hat for my kids to choose from. Please make sure that the senior you are nominating has not had a senior session from me or any other photographer. Sports and club team pictures with the school is fine and will not count against them.
